The Diocese of Leeds has the largest church program of choral music for young people in the United Kingdom. Coming for the first time to Rotherham, The Cathedral boys and adult choirs will be hosting a concert of a wide range of Sacred music under the Direction of the Diocesan director of Music, Benjamin Saunders.
Also, joining the Cathedral choirs will be the Chamber singers of the University of Texas at El Paso, who will be on residency at Leeds Cathedral. The university choir travel from the United States to work and gain from the experience of such a highly regarded Cathedral Choir and its Choral Directors.
St Bede’s is delighted to welcome these prestigious choirs to South Yorkshire, to a church with fine acoustics which will also feature the recently restored Pipe Organ accompanying the singers.
Proceeds from this concert will go towards the Leeds Diocese Music fund, which strives to ensure that all children are offered the same educational and social benefits through choral singing at the highest possible standard.
