Opened in December 2003 the English Institute of Sport – Sheffield (EISS) is one of the country’s most impressive indoor sports training facilities.
The venue offers a range of high quality sports performance areas including the World Snooker Academy, Judo, Combat, Netball, Badminton and an Athletics Arena complete with 200m 6-lane track and throws area.
The Institute of Sport is also home to representatives of a number of sporting National Governing Bodies including England Athletics, British Judo, England Netball, England Basketball and the Amateur Boxing Association.
The Institute is committed to the development of UK sport at all levels and welcomes both the local sporting community and elite athletes to benefit from the state of the art facility and hosts national, international and regional events.
There is on site parking, with dedicated disabled spaces. Event parking may be chargeable.
Rail - EIS Sheffield has two rail stations within easy reach of the venue. Sheffield's main railway station is situated in the City Centre and is approximately a 10 minute taxi or Supertram journey to the venue. An alternative station is available at Meadowhall Interchange which has a Supertram link to the venue which is approximately a 5 minute Supertram journey to the venue.
Bus - EIS Sheffield is served by several bus routes including X78 and 69.
Disabled Access into the Building
Disabled car parking spaces are available at the front of the venue. Automatic doors are at the entrance of the Centre.
Lifts are available to the upper floor of the venue with a designated accessible seating area.
Disabled toilets can be found in the main reception and outside the gym. A bed is is available for use in first aid room.
